Come ye down to Hale’s finest live music venue and check out the Gillan Edgar Band (3-piece this time) rocking the suburbs with a blend of old school rock and pop, reworked eighties classics and modern guitar hits deigned to instigate the shaking of various parts of the human body… Show time from about 10/10:30pm, free entry before 10:00. Who knows what ill-advised request we’ll decide to fulfil on the night – and how brilliant it will turn out to be! See you there; give us a shout when you come down… All the best, Gill _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Hogan’s of Hale, Crown Passages, Hale, Cheshire, WA15 9SP – 0161 929 1755

Another chance to catch the Gillan Edgar Band in full flight on Friday 4th March at the gorgeous and very respectable Knutsford Wine Bar. A few new tunes to tickle your fancy, and as ever requests gladly taken on the night! Free entry and starting about 10pm. But how on earth will we top our impromptu ‘9 – 5’ / ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ mashup request we so gallantly fulfilled last time? How do! I’ve had a nice little mention on Gold Standard Photography’s blog and feature in some of Kyle’s brilliant photos that showcase the frenzy we can whip up when we’re given the chance! Andy, the groom, conducts and arranges for the Manchester Show Choir. His special request for his and Sophie’s first dance was that we play accompanied by a stripped down version of his choir (about 30 voices) and perform a version of ‘High’ by the Lighthouse Family that he had arranged. It was a spine tingling moment when we had our first run through just after soundcheck – what a powerful sound! Thankfully, the collaboration was a success and the uplifting first dance set us all up for a fantastic night, with loads of dancing and singing, and even some quasi-hooliganistic launching of the groom into the air by some of the rowdier male guests… Have a…

How do! A friend of mine who is currently browsing around the net trying to get some wedding inspiration happened upon a fantastic blog aimed toward helping Grooms with their allocated share of the wedding plans… www.iamstaggered.com The post he landed on was an interview with Russell, a Groom I’d played for last year, and lo-and-behold there was another great little snap of me in there, courtesy of Blue Sky Photography. Have a peek and see the nice things Russell also said about me in the interview! There’s also of course lots of inspiration for gentlemen who are taking on their fair share of the wedding duties (or as much as they’ve been entrusted with at least!). And of course, if you’re looking for some inspiring musical entertainment for your big day – just drop me a line! Gillan x

Just had a lovely message through from David and Sally thanking me for singing throughout their big day at Peover Golf Club. We had a real blast, and ended up playing both live sets back to back, with a short break to swap guitars due to a broken string! David has sent through a couple photos from the daytime, so credit goes to their photographer Gemma Jones (www.gjonesphotography.com). “Hi Gillan, Just a short note to say thank you to you and your band for performing at our Wedding. Everybody thought your acoustic set in the afternoon was amazing. You and the band were brilliant at night as you can see from the attached photos. Let us know if you have any public gigs planned as we would love to come and see you. Best Wishes David & Sally” If you’d like to come and see the Gillan Edgar Band for…
